The weather in Lake Atitlan is legendary. Almost perfection if you don´t mind a rainy season. The temperature rages from a cool 50 F to a warm 85 F. It really is the land of eternal spring!

Most of us will want some balance in between. Here is a list of common products/activities and their associated costs.

Tuk Tuk ($1 USD)
The Guatemala Taxi´s are like those in Asia, little three wheeled vehicles that are cutter than a button and get you around steep Guatemalan streets faster than a car. Pretty much $1 dollar will get you to any place in Panajachel proper. If you want to go past the river and into Jucanya then it maybe $2 instead. Your going to love living in Atitlan. It is still very very inexpensive.

Lancha ($3 USD)
Lake Atitlan´s defacto water taxi. With more than 10 Mayan villages situated around the lake, a water taxi is your best bet. The indigenous pay 15 Quetzal ($2 USD), the local gringos pay 20Q, and tourists pay 25Q.

Internet Cafe (80 cents per hour)
Internet cafes in Panajachel are ubiquitous. You will find one every couple of blocks and they usually charge 5 quezal an hour, or roughly 80 cents an hour! I have yet to find one that charges a dollar an hour. FYI, you enter the Internet Cafe, greet the patrons and sit down at a computer. You pay after you have finished surfing the Internet.
